The first week of the season is kind of like a crap shoot, because football gambling fans really don’t have a clue which teams are going to perform up to their abilities, and which teams are going to fall flat on their face masks. After running thru the list of games for this week, I have singled out three games, where I believe the underdog can be victorious, and provide football gambling fans with a profitable payout.
Buffalo Bills at New York Jets 1pm – The Jets(click here for an article on the Jets from a football gambling website) have been like a knocked up drug induced hollywood starlet this off season, garnering the media’s attention. Thru all the constant bull shit encircling this team, like a swarm of vultures gathering around a carcass, football gambling fans have almost forgotten that the Jets will actually be playing some football this season. All the NFL pundits have pretty much, given the Jets a win for their opening game against the Bills. However, the Bills are finally going to be healthy, and with their DE addition’s of Mario Williams and Mark Anderson their defensive line is going to be a menace in opposing team’s backfields this season. I think the Bills are going to be a surprise dark horse team this year, and are going to come out of the gate like a thoroughbred clydesdale. Football gambling fans should wager on the Bills getting +2 1/2 for the game and pick them to win on the money line at +120.
San Francisco 49ers at GreenBay Packers 4:15pm – This match-up, could arguably feature the two best teams in the NFC. It has all the makings of a classic game, featuring the best offense against the best defense. Something has to give. My theory is offense wins games, but defense wins championships, so I am willing to go out on a limb and say the 49ers are poised for a Championship season, and it will all start this Sunday. The 49ers are getting +5, and that is too enticing of a line for football gambling fans to shy away from. I would also advice football gambling fans to go one step further, and pick them to win on the money line at +200. In addition the total is 47, so in regards to my prediction of a strong performance by the 49ers defense, I would suggest to football gambling fans to pick the under 47 points for the game.
San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders Monday Night 10:15pm – The Chargers have been a team for the past few years that has always started off terrible to open the season, and as a result have continued to perform below expectations. However, with TE Antonio Gates finally healthy, and under rated QB Philip Rivers at the helm, football gambling fans should take the risk and select the Chargers to finally start the season off strong. I would suggest picking the Chargers getting +1 and also picking them to win on the money line at -102.
